Bernie has a near-perfect history of standing by minorities, blacks, Latinos, LGBT, and he has been an avid supporter of women's rights as well.
In 1963 Bernie was marching with millions of others in DC alongside Martin Luther King. In 1964, Hillary Clinton was supporting presidential candidate Barry Goldwater, a man who pledged to overturn the Civil Rights Act and reinstate segregation in America.
Even recently, the Chicago Tribune found old pictures in their archive of a young Bernie Sanders being arrested for his efforts in supporting the rights of black Americans.
If you look at more recent times, Bernie wants reform for police departments in an attempt to lower violence against blacks. He also wants to reform the broken criminal justice system, which has for so long used the war on drugs to target minorities. The war on drugs was strengthened under Bill Clinton's administration, and reforming it doesn't seem to be one of Hillary's priorities.
Bernie Sanders stands for the people, and wants to help them as a whole. Hillary is taking major contributions from banks and Wall Street and doing private speeches which she refuses to disclose. Bernie is clean, his intentions are clear. Hillary seems to change as the time changes, but are her intentions really what she claims them to be?
It's time to decide who you trust, the man who's record has proven over and over again his avid support for black rights and minorities in general, or someone who once stood behind a racist presidential candidate and didn't openly support gay marriage until a few years back?
Bernie Sanders is the clear choice. Let's hope we the people realize this before it's too late.
Known Bernie for 17 years. He is the real thing. Plus, he's not so "white." He is a Jew, although a secular one. Jews who are honest with themselves get it. We remember, we know, we get it. Our principle, "Healing of the world," informs Bernie's consciousness & politics. Te Clintons? Not so much...
ReplyDeleteHe embraces all religions, inclusive because that's American
