May 17th wasn't even over and people were already calling fraud in Kentucky, similar to that of what happened in Arizona earlier in the primaries. Rumors flooded about polls closing early and people being turned away and all the regular theories about what happened.
Even though Bernie did better than expected, anyone who was following the election closely would have seen that at one point Bernie had a much bigger lead over Hillary than 2000 votes, and for him to end up losing, well that's just shady.
At the end of the day, if Bernie win's Kentucky after this recount, I believe it won't make much difference, but a delegate here or a delegate there might just help Bernie out in his contested convention plan.
This election has been shady, and luckily Bernie has called for a recount. Hopefully, this recount will bear fruit and potentially change the results of Kentucky to Bernie's favor.
